Great. My kid (the 17-year-old girl) just got her first tattoo on Friday at the base of her neck. Sooooo, no longer any need to put aside bucks for
university...that's the only bright spot in all of this.
Maybe I'll get one around my neck that looks like a rope. |

I try to choose my battles. She wanted to get her tongue pierced, too, so we compromised and settled on something that could be easily covered by clothing or
her hair. Mind you, she probably played me and only *said* she wanted the tongue done, knowing how I'd crab about germs, etc. and one little old tattoo
would seem the lesser of two evils. D'oh!

Just for that, you get a long, boring rationalization. Hey, you brought it on yourself, amigo. 
She's been badgering me for the past two years and was just going to go any place that would take her without parental consent (some have a policy of age of consent [16], others require them to be an adult [18]). She even phoned me from France a couple months ago threatening to get it done there. I spoke to acquaintances about reputable places and then called around to inquire about their needle destruction and sterilizing practices, Board of Health visits, spore testing, etc. |
